M.A.G PS3 Review

Plot

The year is 2025 and the world has been engulfed in the flames of war. The standard military is no more. Now there are 3 PMC's(private military co operations) that countries must buy to fight for them. You can choose to be S.V.E.R, the underdeveloped gangsters, Raven, the high-quality tech guys, or Valor, the standard military and play alongside thousands of online users. Each of these PMCs have pros and cons that can affect you as a player which adds an element of strategy. Every time you win you help your PMC get bought off buy countries so that you can wage war easier. Overall, there isn't much of a storyline but it is strictly multiplayer and has the only storyline I've ever seen in online gameplay.

Characters

In M.A.G you get to create how your character looks and sounds. When you first start up the game you get to choose facial structure skin color, all that fun stuff. You also get to choose how he sounds. There is a huge variety of choice and it's all pretty well done. After you've started you can put on different types of armor like heavey bullet proof vests, or light weight mesh. When you start leveling up you can unlock things like helmets, goggles, glasses armor color and more. As well as unlocking items for looks, you can also unlock gear. Different types of guns like, SMGs, LMGs, Assault Rifles, Snipers, and handguns. All of these give a new look to you that makes you seem more badass. Overall, characters are really well done even if graphics in this game aren't too good.

GamePlay

The gameplay is what killed this game. First off, it's a tactical online shooter so you have to constantly take cover just to stay alive, and camp just to get kills. Also, if someone has played the game a lot and knows good snipeing spots, it becomes impossible to kill them because you can't see them with a sniper and you can't get to them by ground because, well there's 256 people on the map. You figure it out. i do know that that's suppose to be like real war but I prefer it to be a bit smaller or more of what I'm about to mention. I do like how the massive action is organized into squads, but your squad rarely covers you, which is the entire point of having squads. Everyone just goes out on their own, fighting for themselves. Now I know I've been bagging a lot on the main aspect of play but it's actually an ok game. The devolper, Zipper had the right idea, they just didn't put it together correctly. The game was also the first of its kind so they had no resources to look to, they created it on their own. It has potential but it still isn't an amazing game.

The Verdict

This is actually an okay game. While it does have some issues and needs work it still made me happy when playing it. It does loose its steam pretty fast but improvements can be made to fix that. Dosen't change the fact that's this game isn't that good.

Final Score: 7/1o

Pros:

  1. Good variety
  2. It's like real war
  3. Huge wars

Cons:

  1. You die a lot
  2. Slow moving
  3. Little team support
  4. Looses steam pretty fast

ZombieVille USA Review

Hey gamers! Today I will be doing something a bit different. That's right, today I'm going to review a iphone/itouch app. The app is called ZombieVille USA for good reasons.
1. It's a Ville
2.Full of Zombies
3.In the US
All jokes aside this game is one of the best I have ever seen on the app store. It's a very simple game with a basic idea. You choose to be one out of many different characters, all with their own pros and cons. Then you enter a neighborhood with a pistol and blast the zombies brains out. (no pun intended)
Every time you kill a zombie, you earn money which is used to buy 5 different guns with 3 upgrades each, and you can also upgrade your melee weapon from a baseball bat, to a sludge hammer, to a sword. You can also go into houses which either give you ammo for your weapons, or more money. However sometimes zombies will pop out of the ground at the exact wrong moment and kill you. That pisses me off personally.
Sometimes when you enter a house you'll get your money or ammo and an alie. The lie is always one of the other characters from the selection screen. They have bad health but their bullets cause a lot of damage.
You can also find levels where when you walk in you see a vehicle from a ambulance, to a truck, to a sports car, to a helicopter. They all plow right through enemies, makeing it an easy level.
Overall this game is amazing. It is a fun, simple, addicting game that'll give you hours of gameplay and lots of variety.
Final Score:
9.5/10
(note this is comparing it to app store apps. not other system games.)
Pros:
1.Simple, addicting
2.Awesome looking weapons
3.Variety
Cons:
1. Zombies come out randomly
2. Weapons dont cause enough damage

Uncharted 2 : Among Thieves Review

Storyline

Wow........ Uncharted 2. Just wow. This game is simply amazing. It takes place all over the world from Italy to Borneo, Nepal to Tibet. You're a famed fortune Hunter, Nathan Drake who is lured into the world of thieves when your friend, Flynn tells you about a treasure that could make you wealthy beyond belief. You then find that your not alone in this hunt for power. A fugitive war criminal has hired an army to help him find the treasure that could make him the fiercest leader the world has ever seen. This story is full of betrayals and last second failures that lead to the climax.

Settings

This game has amazing graphics and almost realistic views. This game has three main aspects, fighting, climbing, and solving puzzles. The action scenes in this game are vast. You have stealth kills, gun fights, melee fights, and even turret vs helicopter fights. Climbing is okay, though it can get irritating when you are falling constantly or don't know where to jump to, it makes you feel like some sort of ninja when you are jumping from ledge to ledge. Solving puzzles is the same, irritating when you get stuck, but gives you a sense of pride when you complete them.

Game Play

As I said before there are three main types of game play, fighting, climbing, and puzzles. However, there are time when those aspects are combined and make it more fun, but also more challenging. There is also game play where you have moving environments and you have to compensate turns and speed.

Online Play

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves monline multiplayer is one of the best I've ever seen. Everyone starts out with the same weapons and you have to find others which makes it more fair since usually the higher ranks have better guns. I've never seen anyone hack this game and I've owned for nearly a year now and there's almost no lag. The game play here is simply addicting and will have you hooked for days of game play.

The Verdict

Overall this game kicks ass. It's graphics are amazing and gameplay is simply very fun. I recomend it to anyone who owns a PS3.
Final score: 9.7/10

Pros:

  1. Best plot evar
  2. fun gameplay
  3. amzing grapics
  4. best multiplayer on ps3

Cons:

  1. gets frustrating
  2. moves a bit slow

inFamous Review

Storyline

In the game inFamous you play as Cole, a person who makes his living delivering packages. One day you are carrying a package that happens to be a bomb. It explodes in a huge burst of electricity killing everyone in a 6,000 foot radius, except you! Instead it gives you powers which you use for good or evil and decide the fate of Empire City. The story is filled with death and betrayal and the end leaves you on an amazing cliffhanger that leaves you thirsty for the sequel.

Characters

Throughout the game you meet many different people from FBI agents, to undercover spies. You have a best friend, Zeke, and a girlfriend, Trish. You have enimies like deformed witches, to gang conduits, and a special surprise at the end but I won't spoil that. There are many characters who all have different fates that affect you as Cole. I really like character development and how they affect the storyline and how the climax plays out.

Game Play

Throughout the game you can perform a variety of missions. Story missions, side missions, good missions, and evil missions. Good missions and evil missions are counted as side missions but they affect if you become good or evil. Also the game play is a bit different in good missions and evil missions. In good missions you usually protect people or save them. Sometime you help out cops in fights against the gangs or you can transport gang members to the police station for interrogation. In evil missions you usually assassinate people or cause riots, or strike blows against cops. Sometimes you steal things to. Those missions affect your karma and make people like you or hate you. In side missions you perform random favors that don't change your karma even if they seem good or evil. These missions include hooking up satellites, disabling surveillance, spying, defending or destroying police stations, finding hidden packages, and deffending medic zones. All of these missions take over territory which enemies will not return to. Story missions have a huge variety to.
In story missions you recharge power to the city, disable tar kegs, make desicions that make you good or evil, save people, protect supplies, and you have some epic boss battles. Not to mention that almost any battle you have can be epic, by the extreme. All of this stuff affects the last level where you finally realize the truth about you, and your enemy. The story through takes about 10-12 hours depending on how good you are and your difficulty level. There's one more feature of gameplay which is just hunting for blast shards and daed drops. Blast shards give you more power and dead drops give you clues to what will happen next in the story, or if they don't they give you information on your enemies.
The Verdict
I really love this game. It has a lot of variety and many battles give you the sense of being in them, while it can get annoying at some parts the game gives a lot of fun gameing and is a must own for any playstation user.
Final rating: 9.5/10
Pros:
1. A lot of variety
2. Fun gameplay
3. EPIC
4. Amazing campaign
Cons:
1. Can be annoying
2. A bit repetitive
3. Nothing else when you finish the campaign
